About
Cribs To Crayons Childcare
Cribs to Crayons Childcare came to be at just the right time in my life. In the fall of 2016, I made the decision to transition from accounting to childcare, driven by the growing need for quality, affordable child care in our community. Years later, I know I made the right choice.
Unlike larger daycare centers, I offer a personalized, family-oriented program tailored to the specific needs of the families I serve. My goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children feel comfortable, valued, and excited to learn.
At Cribs to Crayons Childcare, I specialize in providing quality care for up to six children at a time, ensuring each child receives the attention they deserve. Learning here is play-based and developmentally appropriate, with a focus on social-emotional skills, self-help skills, and practical life skills that set a strong foundation for lifelong success.
Children in my care spend their days exploring, creating, and discovering through play, both indoors and outdoors. I strive to create an environment that is inviting, flexible, and responsive to the ever-changing needs of young children. Every day is filled with new opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.
What do we provide?
✔ Nutritious Meals & Snacks – As a participant in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), I provide healthy, balanced meals and snacks for all children eating table food. (click HERE to see what those requirements look like) → Clicking “Here” should bring up a new page with the photo in the Google Drive folder named “Meal Patterns”
✔ Infant Feeding Support – Parents of infants under 1 year old are required to provide breastmilk and/or formula, as well as any purees. Once a child transitions to table food, I will provide all meals and snacks. I am also experienced with baby-led weaning and am happy to support families choosing this approach.
✔ Diapering & Supplies – I provide baby wipes, while parents are responsible for supplying diapers and pull-ups for their child.
✔ Play-Based Learning – Children learn best through play! I provide engaging, hands-on activities that promote social-emotional development, self-help skills, and manners in a fun, natural way.
✔ Outdoor Time – Daily outdoor play is a priority. Weather permitting, children will spend at least 60 minutes outside each day, exploring, moving, and engaging with nature.
✔ A Safe & Loving Environment – My home daycare offers personalized care and low ratios, ensuring every child feels safe, valued, and supported as they grow and learn.

About Me
Hello, I’m Courtney, the owner and provider at Cribs to Crayons Childcare. For nearly a decade, I have been dedicated to working with children, but my journey truly began as a teenager, babysitting for local families and my own niece. In 2016, with encouragement from my family and friends, I took a leap and established my licensed family childcare home—a decision that has brought me so much joy and fulfillment.
Outside of childcare, I find joy in reading, camping, and traveling. I’ve been married for over 15 years to my supportive husband, Eric, and together we have four amazing boys—one in middle school, two in elementary school, and one not yet school-aged.
Beyond running my daycare, I’m also deeply involved in my community, serving in various volunteer roles. When I’m not busy with childcare or community work, I love spending time with my family, cooking, and enjoying the little moments that make life special.
I’m passionate about early childhood education and committed to providing high-quality, developmentally appropriate care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. I engage in ongoing education, participating in workshops and training programs to stay up to date on best practices. I even plan to return to school to earn my second bachelor's degree, this time in Early Childhood Education.
Creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and grow is truly my calling, and I feel honored to be part of so many children’s early years. I look forward to welcoming your family into Cribs to Crayons Childcare!
